WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE AN AMAZING AERIAL OR POLE COACH?

YOUR STUDENTS COULD BE GETTING MORE OUT OF EVERY SESSION WITH YOU.

You just need to stop instructing and start coaching.

(Because whether you know it or not, you are in the relating business. đŸ€«)

Why did you become a coach?

  • Did you get ob-sessed with doing aerial or pole and it just sorta snowballed from there?
  • Were you taking class one minute and then asked to sub a class the next, well before you were ready?
  • Did you think to yourself, "I'm pretty good at this, I should teach it" and then you did?

You probably didn't set out to coach aerial as a career. Odds are you didn't show up to college and ask which classes you should take to teach pole.

It's no wonder coaches feel underprepared and overwhelmed. Like they should be doing more to help their students succeed, but what they've learned in teacher trainings alone just doesn't cut it.

đŸ”„ So where should you start? đŸ”„

Hi, I'm your coach, Jessica JohnđŸ‘‹đŸ»

I didn't start out knowing all of the answers (in fact, I still don't), and you're not expected to either. I'm a learning junkie, and I stumbled upon circus as an adult. I was hooked from my first aerial silks class. At that time, I was a leadership analyst at the CIA (😬) with a weird hobby. Slowly but surely I allowed that weird hobby to take over my life. I became an aerialist and eventually a master coach to aerial and pole teachers across the globe.

My coaching philosophy is:

  • evidence-based and whole-person centered, addressing technical, strength, mobility, mindset, and psychosocial challenges
  • focused on helping coaches improve their teaching of foundational aerial technique, because I believe it opens pathways to creative potential
  • passionate about coaching coaches to see the power they have to create a more inclusive and impactful aerial culture that inspires autonomy, risk-taking, and mastery

You're here because you love your students and you want to help them reach their aerial and pole dream skills. Well, you're in the right place. I want that for you too.
