You’re not bad at learning inversions.
You’re solving the wrong problem.
You’re not frustrated because you’re lazy, weak, or not trying hard enough. You’re frustrated because you’ve been working hard at a problem you haven’t fully diagnosed.
You’ve tried the drills. You’ve added more conditioning. You’ve watched the tutorials. Maybe some of it helped a little—and then plateaued. Or nothing helped at all and you’re starting to wonder if this is just a you problem.
It’s not a you problem. It’s a clarity problem.
- Some days your inversion kinda works with a tag and a prayer. Some days you fight it with everything you have—and still lose.
- You feel strong enough, but “strong enough” isn’t translating into the air.
- You don’t know if your issue is strength, compression, timing, shoulder positioning—or some combination of all of them.
- You keep adding drills from Instagram to your training, hoping one of them is the magic fix.
- You’ve been told to “just lift your legs higher” more times than you can count.
“The problem isn’t that you’re not putting in work. The problem is that without knowing your actual limiting factor, more work is just more noise.”
Inversions fail for different reasons in different bodies. Pulling harder, drilling it more, and hoping something clicks is not a strategy. This masterclass is.
Two live masterclasses.
One very clear outcome.
On May 31, Jessica John is hosting two separate one-hour virtual masterclasses — one for bent-arm inversions, one for straight-arm — designed to do one thing: help you understand exactly what’s limiting yours.
You will learn the categories of things that limit inversions, how to identify which ones apply to your body, and what that means for how you train going forward.
A drill dump. You are not getting a list of 47 exercises to add to your already overwhelming training schedule.
A diagnostic framework. Understand your actual limiter — then train it directly, without the noise.
You’ll walk out of this masterclass with a clearer head and a better plan for your next training session — not another thing to figure out later.
Diagnosis, not just drills
Understand the why before you add another exercise to your warm-up.
All apparatus welcome
Silks, lyra, straps, rope, fabric — this applies across every aerial apparatus except pole.
Live and virtual
Ask questions in real time and get answers that actually apply to your situation. Attend from anywhere.
Science-informed, human-delivered
Biomechanics without the jargon. Nuance without the condescension.
Pick your inversion.
Or get both.
Early bird pricing through May 28 only.

Results speak louder than drills.
From aerialists who finally understood what to train — and why.
It’s been over a year and a half since I’ve been able to do straight-arm inverts in a row!
In 2 months-ish of doing the program I have unlocked my first ever toes to bar and straight-arm inversion for the first time.
I knew I had the strength but couldn’t piece things together. Jessica put it all together so I could train the right aspects.
I don’t feel like I’m doing one-size-fits-most exercises. Every drill has a specific purpose toward my aerial goals.
I learned how to break a skill into component parts — which will serve me long-term in my training.
I’m much less injury-prone when Jessica is thoughtfully guiding my training load. Nagging issues disappear faster instead of getting worse.
You’ve been working hard.
Now work on the right thing.
Jessica John — Circus Mobility
Jessica John
Before founding Circus Mobility, Jessica worked as a leadership analyst at the CIA— where her job was to figure out what was actually driving a situation, not just react to the surface-level signals. Find the real problem first. Then solve it.
That same framework is exactly how she approaches inversions.
She’s also been the aerialist on the other side of this—muscling through inversions that should have felt easy, feeling strong enough but still fighting, adding more drills and getting more confused. She knows what it’s like to work hard at the wrong problem. And she knows how different training feels once you finally know what to actually fix.
“Tricks aren’t the work. They’re the receipts.”
Jessica holds a BA, MA, and JD, is a certified Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis trainer, and has spent thousands of hours—and tens of thousands of dollars—building a science-informed, nervous-system-first coaching methodology that is genuinely unlike anything else in aerial education.
Her approach is not about training harder. It’s about training what actually matters—for your body, your apparatus, and where you actually are right now.
FAQs
Can’t make it live? Recordings are available after each session with lifetime access.
That’s exactly why the bundle exists.
If your bent-arm inversion works but your straight-arm doesn’t, if your inversion feels inconsistent, or if you’re genuinely not sure where your issue lives—start with both masterclasses so you get the full picture.
If you want fully personalized clarity on top of that, the Inversion Lab (available after purchase) is your best next step.
Yes—with a caveat.
These masterclasses are primarily designed for aerialists who want to improve their own inversions. That said, coaches will absolutely leave with stronger diagnostic eyes and a better understanding of what they’re seeing in their students.
If your primary goal is learning how to coach inversions across many different bodies, the Inversion Conversion Method Certification will be the better long-term fit.
Inversion mechanics are human-body mechanics first. While demos may be shown on specific apparatus, the principles apply across:
- Silks
- Sling
- Hoop
- Trapeze
- Rope
- Straps
If getting upside down is part of your practice, this will be relevant.
These masterclasses will help you understand what’s likely holding you back and what to focus on next.
Progress still depends on your consistency, your current capacity, and how long your limiting factors have been in place.
This is not a magic drill pack. It is a much smarter place to start.
Yes. If you’ve been cleared by a physio to return to activity, you can begin this training—some modifications may be needed. If you’re not yet cleared for activity, you can still engage with the course content and return to the physical aspects when you’re ready.
Not in the masterclasses themselves—but if you want individualized support, that’s exactly what the Inversion Lab is for.
The Inversion Lab
The Inversion Lab is a diagnosis-and-direction experience built around your specific body and your specific inversion. You’ll walk away knowing exactly what to do in your next training session.
- Personalized inversion video review
- Custom Inversion Blueprint PDF
- Identification of your #1 dial-mover
- Simple personalized training plan
- 2 live group breakdown & coaching calls
This is not a long-term coaching container. It is clarity—fast.
The Inversion Lab is offered as an upgrade after you purchase a masterclass or the bundle.
If you’ve started working on inversions and you’re stuck, yes. If you haven’t started inversion training at all yet, this will be more useful once you do.
The masterclasses are more like "nerd out" sessions that don’t require access to an aerial apparatus, but eventually you will need access to a bar you can hang and invert from. If you do have aerial apparatus, a bar apparatus (trapeze or lyra) is preferred but not required.
Some supplemental props like a peanut, resistance bands, or yoga blocks may be recommended for expereincing some drills in real time—but these will be flagged in advance.
Lifetime access through your Circus Mobility course login.
If you already have the DIY program, these masterclasses can deepen your understanding—but the biggest value for you will likely be the Inversion Lab, where you get direct feedback and clarity on what to prioritize in your specific body.
Not in this live format. The recordings will be available after May 31, but the live experience—including real-time Q&A — is a one-time event.
If you want in, now is the time.
